Was looking for a place in the area to eat a late lunch/early dinner for Mother's Day. Found Nola and was not disappointed. The only thing I did t really care for was the chips they serve w the spinach dip. The roast beef poboy was delicious. Lots of seafood On the sf platter and best of all was the boiled crawfish. A lil pricy but seasoned very good and easy to peel.

Looks pretty and expensive from the outside so figured would be a great place: Plain Jane on the inside with a DUI "blow before you go" coin operated machine at the bar... this is where I figured.. NOPE this is definitely not a swanky place.
I went on a date, so two of us!
Ordered dozen charbroiled oysters to start. NO WAY... don't get them!! The shells were huge but each oyster was the size of a Lima bean or smaller, no joke and they all tasted super fishy! The bread was way too thinly sliced and hard. The lemon... they thinly sliced a lemon like you get served in a cocktail. How are ya gonna squeeze any juice onto your oysters??? Oh, and since two of us were sharing the oysters, neither of us got a small plate to use. Btw the dozen oysters were 17.99!
We split an Order of the grilled shrimp tacos (two tacos with fries). These tacos were SALTY!!! Not sure if it was the sauce or just cooking in salt.. have no idea and didn't care to figure it out. Only thing good was the fries outta this whole meal! Since we spilt this meal, again not given a smaller plate to use for each of us . I opened a napkin and laid it on the table to place my taco on as I ate it. This dish was 10.99
I did tip 20 percent and that was specifically for the waitress... not for the establishment or food!!!!!
Absolutely NO intentions to ever visit this place again even if a group of friends are gonna be there, NOPE!!! -

Stuffed Catfish
2 crawfish stuffed catfish fillets, seared and topped with cajun cream.
$16.49 + Ordered expecting it to have crawfish in the filets. Nope.
Turns out it is a smear of stuffing without any crawfish in it that I could find. When I pointed out that there were no crawfish the Manager offered to replace the order with something else but by the time we got our food I was starving. She brought out a small bowl of additional stuffing but I really wanted the crawfish. The stuffing by itself was salty. Doesn't the description sound like it's stuffed with crawfish? My husband ordered Bayou Catfish
Catfish fried in cornmeal, topped with crawfish etouffee, served with red beans and rice.
$12.99. There was a hint of sauce on top but clearly NOT crawfish etouffee. There were no crawfish here either! You know, if you're out of crawfish how about telling us before we order it? He was as disappointed in his dish as I was in mine. His dish came out with broccoli.....where did that come from? They brought out a side of beans after we pointed out it was missing. A third person that was with us was missing his hush puppies. He had also asked for a separate check but it was brought out as a single bill. Clearly someone was having a bad day besides us, the paying customers. We've eaten here before and enjoyed it but I guess things have gone downhill. -

Mom flew in from out of town, and we went to NOLA Southern 2 days ago. Our server forgot silverware which I had to go get, and our server never gave us the check, I had to ask for it.
Food was good, but on the expensive side. The overall experience wasn't good. -

Had the brunch today and the food was great! The staff was very pleasant and the service was awesome and fast! The 3.99 endless mimosas made my visit even better!! I'm typically hard to please but this place hit the spot!
